EUGENE, Ore. — A man was killed Friday morning after his truck hit a pole and he was ejected from the vehicle.
Oregon State Police says witnesses saw the truck driving eastbound on Clear Lake Road at a high rate of speed when it went through the the intersection at Highway 99 and hit a light pole. The man was the only person in the truck. The call came in just after 9 a.m.
The northbound lanes of Highway 99 are restricted to a single lane at Irving Road about four miles north of Eugene.
Irving Road is closed to all traffic at Highway 99. ODOT says drivers should be prepared for a lengthy closure and restrictions while the crash is reconstructed and investigated.
