SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A deadly crash on Monday afternoon forced Springfield Police to shut down parts of Highway 126.
Orange cones marks where officers say a car left the highway just east of the 52nd Street intersection. The car then went sideways and smashed into the guardrail.
Officers say 38-year-old Fausto Bahena-Salgado of Springfield died at the scene.
They closed the highway for several hours as they worked to reconstruct the crash.
“We go back to the computers and it comes up with the final product,” said Springfield Officer Justin Myers. “There’s pictures that come out and then animations you can do also.”
Officers are still looking for witnesses. If you have any information about the wreck, call police.
