SANTIAM PASS, Ore. — Oregon State Police is continuing the investigation into a fatal crash near Santiam Pass Monday.
Troopers say around 9:13 a.m. a Ford Fusion driven by and 86-year-old woman was travelling eastbound on Highway 20 when she lost control on the ice. The Fusion crossed into westbound lanes and hit a Volvo sport utility vehicle driven by a 57-year-old man.
The driver of the Fusion was pronounced dead at the scene. The Volvo’s driver and a 56-year-old female passenger, both of Hillsboro, were transported by ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend with non-life threatening injuries.
OSP continues to investigate the crash.
