EDDYVILLE, Ore. — Oregon State Police have identified the two people killed Thursday in a crash on Highway 20 as a father and daughter from Toledo.
Fifty-seven-year-old Daniel Loper, and his daughter, 34-year-old April Loper, died in a head-on collision near Eddyville.
Police say a truck driven by an Albany man crossed the center line, and smashed into the vehicle the Loper’s were riding in.
Emergency crews took April’s 2-month-old son, who was in the backseat, to the hospital with possible injuries.
The driver of the truck was unharmed.

Families are ruined because of ODOT’s reckless actions. An ongoing theme from this area of highway. This “temporary” corner from the new road to the old road has seen other head on collisions before this one, which took my family members lives. When will ODOT come to the realization that this is a dangerous corner. They are literally dumping millions of dollars into canyons, just a few miles from here, to help the future drivers. In the meantime, drivers are dying because some simple fixes are not being made to the existing road. ODOT, please fix your mistakes before more lives are lost.
