FBI Offers Reward for Coos Bay Incidents

COOS BAY, Ore. — The FBI is offering a reward in an ongoing case involving explosives in Coos Bay.

On Aug. 22, an IED was detonated at the Mingus Park Vietnam War Memorial. On Sept. 3, a second one was left at the prayer chapel. Experts disarmed it before it detonated.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person or people responsible.

Police released a person believed to have been near the prayer chapel shortly before the explosive was found there. Witnesses say he’s a white man, about 55 years old, 5’6″ – 5’7″ tall, and about 150 pounds with a shaved head.
