Ferguson Fire Burning at 200 Acres

7-26 pic-2-ferguson-fireNEAR BEATTY, Ore. — Two structures have been lost to the Ferguson Fire burning about 30 miles east of Klamath Falls, and five miles north of Beatty.

South Central Oregon Incident Management Team reports six structures are still threatened by the fire. The fire is currently at 200 acres and is 20 percent contained. The cause is under investigation.

The Level Three evacuation notification issued Friday by the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office has been dropped to a Level One.

Eight hand crews, eight engines, two water tenders, two dozers and five helicopters are all responding to keep the fire acreage at a minimum.
