EUGENE, Ore. — The 8th Annual Eugene International Film Festival is taking place this weekend. Filmmakers from as far away as Antarctica and Australia will be town taking part. It kicks off Friday night, but organizers held a special reception Thursday evening. They say it’s a great place for filmmakers to showcase their work and for viewers to get a good taste of different kinds of films.
Executive Director Mike Dilley said, “I often liken a film festival to craft brewing as a good example. I mean you have the big brand names, which do a great job and you have the craft brewers that do a great job too and you can enjoy both of them.”
Films will be shown at the Valley River Center’s Regal Cinemas and the Bijou Metro downtown.
