Fire Chief Asks for Clarity from Coburg

COBURG, Ore. – The Coburg Fire Chief is calling for clarity from the city as he questions a $700,000 loan.

The confusion surrounds a special district inside Coburg. The Coburg Fire District Chief presented a letter to councilors Tuesday night, laying out his concerns. He claims the special district, the Coburg Urban Renewal Agency, raises money through taxes.

In 2007, under previous city administration, the city took out the loan from the district’s funds for sewer improvements.

The fire chief is hoping an outside party will step in and evaluate the program to see if the city should be required to repay that money and interest.

Coburg’s Mayor says he doesn’t think there was any wrongdoing and that everything was approved years ago following a thorough process.

The city plans to evaluate the letter presented Tuesday night and draft a response. That process is expected to be completed within a month.

Umm DUH, that is what a LOAN does.

Fire chief is a trouble maker and should be fired.

Jason, you obviously don’t have the slightest idea of what you’re talking about. It’s nice to know that it’s people like you that voted most of the financial wizards into office that are running the government. Keep reading what you’re given and responding how you’re told…be a good little sheep.

Fire the chief because he is questioning the legality of certain finances that could very likely negatively affect the financial burden to the citizens of Coburg? Good plan. You’re a genius! One suggestion though; next time you open your mouth, be sure to make sure your head has been removed from that brown hole it’s stuck in, eh…
