Fire Damages House in West Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. — Firefighters responded to a house fire early Monday morning just off Northwest Expressway on Nadine Avenue.

They said it looked like an electrical fire that caught part of the floorboards of the house.

The resident of the house reported it started from a hallway light switch. Firefighters feel fortunate to have caught the fire early.

“Anytime a fire gets into a floor or underneath in the crawl space, there’s a danger that it would spread along that space,” said Capt. Chris Paskett, Eugene Fire Department.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the fire.
