Around 1:45 am, the Roseburg Fire Department responded to flames coming from Chrome Nightclub on Diamond Lake Boulevard. Crews spent over two hours fighting the flames, and closed off part of Highway 138 for a period while they were on scene.
“This morning we came into town around 3:30, and we smelled something,” said Roseburg resident Tasha Robinson. “It looked crazy. There was tons of smoke everywhere and we thought something was on fire.”
While many on-lookers are speculating about the cause of the fire, the Roseburg Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
“There was a lot of smoke coming from the attic,” said Josh Voynick, Battalion Chief with the Roseburg Fire Department. “And these old buildings – the woods, probably 50 or 60 years old – they’re very dry. And once they get burning, they burn pretty fast.”
KEZI 9 News reached out to Chrome’s owner, but have not yet heard back.
