SUTHERLIN, Ore. — A fire destroyed a home in Sutherlin Wednesday night and killed a dog.
The fire started around 7 p.m. at a home on Kruse Street, fire officials said.
Douglas County Fire District No. 2 says it took about a half hour to control the fire.
They said the residents and three of their dogs got out safely, but their fourth dog went back inside the house during the fire and died.
Investigators are at the home Thursday to try to determine what caused the fire.
