Fire Displaces Family of 11

COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. — A fire destroyed a Cottage Grove home Monday morning, displacing a family of 11.

South Lane County Fire & Rescue crews say they were able to quickly take control of the fire at the home on Fillmore Avenue.

However, fire officials say all the contents of the home were destroyed and the family did not have renters insurance. The children in the home span from infant to high school age, officials said.

Donations of items for the family are being collected at the Cottage Grove Station of South Lane County Fire and Rescue, located at 233 East Harrison in Cottage Grove.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Donations need to be taken to the station in Cottage Grove, not Creswell. I was told the address to drop off donations is 233 Harrison, Cottage Grove, OR.
