EUGENE, Ore. — Springfield, Eugene, and South Lane County firefighters all combined efforts Friday to battle a big opponent: muscular dystrophy.
They’re taking part in the Fill-the-Boot drive, asking drivers to drop cash into fire boots to support local families.
The firefighters hope to raise a combined $30,000 Friday.
This is the first of two drives happening this summer.
Last year the fire crews raised a combined $54,000.
KEZI 9 News photojournalist Kathleen Spencer gives us an inside look at the drive.
