The first ones showed up Tuesday around Gateway Loop. They will sell all type of fireworks, beginning on Monday, June 23, the first day legal fireworks can be sold in the state of Oregon.
Legal fireworks can produce smoke, sparks or fire, but they can’t explode, or travel more than six feet off the ground.
Those selling fireworks say people need to remember the dangers that fireworks pose if not used properly.
The Eugene City Council is currently considering new restrictions on fireworks. Any changes made will most likely not take effect until after this year’s holiday.
