EUGENE, Ore. — The First Avenue Animal shelter was packed Saturday for its First Annual Kitten Shower.
The goal of the event was to provide an opportunity to meet the kittens and learn about adoption and volunteer opportunities.
The community learned more about cats with some trivia and prizes. Organizers say they plan to host the event again because it’s a great way to get more cats adopted.
“They all have very significantly different personalities and it really just goes to show that there’s a cat our there for everyone,” said Sasha Elliot, First Avenue Shelter Spokswoman.
Staff say the event was a success, as there were many adoptions on Saturday.
The shelter will care for more than 800 orphaned and abandoned kittens in the coming months.
