First Graders Learn About Meteorology

video preview image

EUGENE, Ore. — Meteorology may be a complex science, but even first graders can start to understand some of the physics involved.

The students at Willagillespie Elementary are learning about weather this week, so KEZI Meteorologist Melissa Frey stopped by to show them what it’s like to be a meteorologist first hand.

The first graders in Ms. Swineheart, Dame-Brown, Cowman and Brandt’s classes worked with weather instruments, found out the secret behind the green screen and even made a balloon blow up with out using any air.

If you would like one of the Stormtracker 9 meteorologists to visit your school, or you have a weather question, just go to kezi.com/weather/classroom where you can submit your questions and find great weather lessons.
