Food Bank Holds Empty Bowls Fuse-a-Thon

EUGENE, Ore. — Families can have some fun while helping feed hungry families in Lane County.

Monday night is the first night of the Food for Lane County Fuse-a-thon. There they can make a work of art that will be sold during the Empty Bowls Sale. The event is a huge fundraiser for the food bank.

“In the past we’ve earned around $1,500. Last year we didn’t make quite as much. We didn’t have a big turnout. But this year with two Fuse-a-Thons, we’re really hoping to increase that $1,500 amount,” said Sue Bradley, Oregon Glass Guild.

The Fuse-a-thon lasts until 8 p.m. Monday. It’s at The Glass Fuser at 1849 Willamette St.

Another fuse-a-thon will be held on April 6.
