Former Homeless Families Honored

EUGENE, Ore. — The appreciation was evident this Valentine’s Day. Not just at home, but in the community.

St. Vincent de Paul honored three formerly homeless families and community service leaders at Thursday’s St. Vincent Heart for the Homeless event.

They were given awards, chocolates, and recognition from their community of their perseverance and success in transforming their lives, and the lives of their families.

Mayor Piercy helped present the awards and spoke on the importance of continuing services like First Place Family Center and the Egan Warming Center.

Nothing like trying to put yourself in a positive light, considering the City of Eugene’s track record where the homeless are concerned! That’s right Mayor keep up the good fake front!

It won’t do you any good because your record is louder than your little photo shoot!
