Foster Kids Turned Into Princesses

EUGENE, Ore. — Girls from all over Oregon came to Eugene to be crowned a princess for a day. A Family for Every Child puts the event on each year. Foster children get their hair and makeup done for free.

They also pick out a dress and get their picture taken. Once the girls are ready to go, they walk the red carpet into a tea party.

Other girls from the community paid $50 to participate. Around 350 girls showed up to put on the tiaras. “It grows every year, we’ve actually had lots of girls walk in off the street today, we encourage them to register but even at the last minute we had girls calling last night to register,” said Linzy Munger, Associate Director of A Family for Every Child.

Event organizers said each year more girls sign up to get the royal treatment.
