It’s happening through a partnership with Cascade Health Solutions.
Since June 2011 more than 200 Lane County women in need of assistance identified by Cascade Health Solutions have been screened for free. Those screenings are done at the Oregon Medical Group‘s Cedar Clinic in Eugene.
OMG staff say they can’t overstress the importance of screenings.
“There is a cost involved and a lot of women can’t do that. And we thought that those women are seriously going to miss out on important screening if there’s not other options,” said Michael Milstein, OMG Staff Radiologist.
Radiologist Milstein recommends you get your first mammogram at age 30 and yearly screenings once you turn 40.
