Free Fares Offered to the Fair

VENETA, Ore. – Riders will get to ride free on Lane Transit District buses during an upcoming weekend. The Oregon Country Fair will sponsor a free fares system for LTD during the 44th annual fair, July 12-14.

The service helps reduce the fair’s impact on the environment and ease vehicle congestion.

“Supporting public transportation in our region makes good sense from an economic, social equity and environmental perspective,” said Charles Ruff, General Manager of the Oregon Country Fair.

LTD busses to the fair will leave from both the downtown station and Valley River Center.

Admission tickets or will call vouchers will still be needed to get access into the fair.

This is what I like to see.

Now if only fair visitors from out of town had places to park in Eugene so they could take the bus…

You guys should do a story on Eugene parking, especially in the campus area.
