Fugitive Wanted to Start Cult

BOZEMAN, Mont. — The FBI says that Daniel Clement Chafe, the Douglas County fugitive who was caught last week after 15 years, wanted to start a cult.

The FBI says Chafe was allegedly recruiting females between the ages of 14 and 16 in order to form what he called the ‘Cobalt Clan.’

His reported goal was to have sex with these young girls in order to produce a large number of children over which he could rule.

Chafe was subject of several television shows including America’s Most Wanted.

He is currently being held on 18 sex charges.
