EUGENE, Ore. — Friends of a Junction City teen who died in a train accident are hosting a fundraiser for his family.
Julius Schmidt, 14, died Sept. 8 after being hit by a train while he was playing along the tracks.
Schimdt’s friends are hosting a fundraiser at Papa’s Pizza.
It happens Monday, Sept. 17 at the Papa’s Pizza location at 1700 West 11th Avenue. People who bring in a fundraiser flier will have 50 percent of their purchase donated to the family.
Friends say they have also planned another fundraiser to happen on Sept. 24 at Pappy’s Pizzeria on Barger Road, located next to WinCo Foods.
