EUGENE, Ore. — The South Willamette Valley Honor Flight is having a garage sale this weekend to raise money for its next trip.
The Honor Flight takes World War II veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the veteran memorials.
So to raise money for the cause, Honor Flight is selling donated clothing, furniture, toys, and just about anything you can think of.
The group takes around four trips a year that are all free for World War II vets. Last week a group of vets flew to D.C. and saw the memorials despite the government shutdown.
“It was the trip of a lifetime. It really was. I felt very fortunate to be able to be around to be able to take that trip,” said World War II veteran Al Steinmetz.
The garage sale continues Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 2225 Coburg Rd.
