Gas Prices Rise Slightly

EUGENE, Ore. — Drivers payed more at the pumps Sunday. It was only about a penny more, but it snapped a downward trend.

AAA says the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded was $3.62. In the Eugene-Springfield area the average was $3.90 a gallon.

And even though it’s below $4 a gallon, drivers say it still makes travel difficult.

“I don’t travel with my truck but I do drive it back and forth from work. And just you look at your pay check and you’re thinking half of it’s going to your truck as far as gas, and it’s just ridiculous,” said driver Michael Brant.

The area’s average was almost 50 cents lower than the record high of $4.11 a gallon in July 2008.
