METEOROLOGIST MARISA WOLOSZYN’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Warm air moved in quickly Thursday as the high pressure from the southwest part of the county built in. High temperatures climbed into the 60s along the coast and 80s inland.
The high pressure will remain in place for the next week as an Omega Block develops.
An Omega Block, is what it sounds like, a high pressure in between two low pressures giving the shape of the Greek letter omega. The high pressure essentially blocks the movement of the lows and keeps dry and warm weather in an area for a week.
Friday through Wednesday will be mostly sunny with high temperatures in the low 70s along the coast, upper 80s and low 90s in the valley and foothills, and low to mid 90s in the Umpqua.
Have a fantastic Friday!
