GM to Issue Report on Delayed Recall

GM PIC(CNN) — General Motors will release details Thursday on the investigation into why it took so long to recall cars with faulty ignition switches.

According to GM, the problem has been tied to 13 deaths, though safety officials and families say there could be more.

GM says the switch problem was discovered as early as 2004, but no recalls were issued until this year.

The car company might also say Thursday how much it will pay the victims’ families. It’s already agreed to pay a $35 million fine from safety regulators.
