Scott Gorman, 47, was arrested last January. He is accused of making threats toward an adult care facility. Prosecutors say the convicted felon was in possession of firearms.
During Wednesday’s sentencing, the presiding judge had concerns about Gorman’s mental health and a state case that wasn’t settled.
“He also needs some services that won’t be available to him unless he settles both his state and federal cases. So what the judge strongly suggested is that we both explore some sort of resolution that will resolve both of these matters and get Mr. Gorman the help that he needs,” said John Kolego, defense attorney.
Gorman’s sister says last year’s incident stemmed from Gorman wanting to make sure his wife was getting daily physical therapy. She says that care was given after Gorman’s arrest.
