The Government Accountability Office report says Congress risks wasting more money if it continues funding the program without scientific proof that it works. The report is the most critical yet pitting the GAO against the TSA.
The TSA has long believed that trained observers can pick out terrorists and criminals from the stream of everyday passengers. They look for behaviors that indicate stress, fear or deception.
