Grant to Pay for Teacher Training

LANE COUNTY, Ore. — A new grant will help improve skills for teachers all across Lane County.

The University of Oregon and the Eugene School District received a $450,000 stem study grant from the Oregon Department of Education.

Under the two-year grant, the university and the school district will match secondary teachers across Lane County with professionals in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math.

The professionals and the teachers will work together to help students learn how to solve real world problems.
