Grants Pass Fireworks Will Go On

Firework-FundraiserGRANTS PASS, Ore. — Fireworks will be flying high in the air again this year at the public firework display in Grants Pass, but the city needs help to make it happen.

The fireworks at the fairgrounds have been going on for decades, but did not happen in 2011 or 2012 due to funding issues.

This year sponsors need to raise $15,000 for the show to go on.  They already have $12,500 in the bank, but that leaves them with $2,500 to go.

This is where the public can help.  Firework donation cans are set up at local restaurants and businesses around the Grants Pass.

People can drop of cash or checks into the donation buckets.  If a person writes a check, they need to make it out to the Grants Pass and Josephine County Chamber of Commerce, and write fireworks somewhere on the check.

The Josephine County Firework Spectacular kicks off at 7:30 p.m. on July 4 at the fairgrounds. There will be a band present. Fireworks will go off around 9:45 p.m. Admission is free.
