Great Rotary Duck Race Will Help Rural Families

COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. — Most of the nonprofits involved in the Great Rotary Duck Race presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union are based in Eugene or Springfield.

But the Patrick McCurdy Education Foundation reaches out to rural areas to help families facing issues that can lead to abuse or neglect.

Right now, it serves Pleasant Hill and Cottage Grove, though some services could have been jeopardized without Duck Race money.

“Like all nonprofits, the past couple of years have been a difficult time to try to conduct fundraising and write grants. Actually, without the Duck Race funds, we probably would not have a Family Connection piece at all,” said Dennis Biggerstaff with Patrick McCurdy Education Foundation.
