EUGENE, Ore. — Greenhill Humane Society and Lane County Animal Services are in the last few stages of their transition.
LCAS will no longer be at its home on West First Avenue.
Starting Sunday, Greenhill will take over all operations.
The group says the public shouldn’t notice any major changes in service.
The two groups have worked together all week to make the best of a difficult situation.
“With the service cuts at Lane County, these services were going to be discontinued. So, to have Greenhill be willing to step up is a fantastic turn of events for our animals and the community,” said Animal Services Program Manager Kelly Darnell.
Greenhill hopes to increase the number of animals it helps with the use of new technology.
