Groups Ask FTC to Block Facebook Changes

(CNN) — Six public interest groups have asked the Federal Trade Commission to block upcoming changes to Facebook’s privacy policies they claim would make it easier for the social network to use your information.

In a letter to the FTC, the groups say the policy allows your picture to be used in a product or store ad on Facebook without your consent.

Facebook said the updated policy was in response to a recent $20 million class-action settlement over its privacy practices.

Facebook says its ad practices have not changed and that the new privacy policy only clarifies what it does with user information.
