Habitat For Humanity Groundbreaking

MONROE, Ore. — Habitat for Humanity held a ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony at a new home in Monroe Sunday. At the ceremony, the family moving into the home dug a ceremonial hole.

It wasn’t a real groundbreaking because the foundation of the house was already poured. The family moving in said it can’t wait to own a home.

“It’s so nice to be able to own your own home and it’s definitely a goal of mine, ours,” said Jessica Jones Nowlin, future homeowner. Her husband said the same thing. “Just having it come along so easily through a program like this I mean it’s almost a blessing, almost,” said Corey Youngren.

Construction is set to wrap up at the end of September, so the family plans on moving in by mid-October.
