Haugen vs. Kitzhaber to be Heard at UO

EUGENE, Ore. — An Oregon, death row inmate will get the chance to plead his case in front of the Oregon Supreme Court Thursday.

Gary Haugen, a twice-convicted murderer, was granted a reprieve from Governor John Kitzhaber; but Haugen says he does not want it.

The arguments in the case of Haugen v. Kitzhaber will be heard by the Oregon Supreme Court when it visits the University of Oregon School of Law on March 14. The proceedings to the argument are open to the public.

The arguments will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Knight Law Center, 1515 Agate St. in Eugene.
