Healthcare Fair

healthcare fairEUGENE, Ore. –Two Eugene groups were helping residents sign up for healthcare Saturday.

The deadline for open enrollment is March 31 so Saturday, the Democratic Party of Lane County and Lane County Young Democrats held a healthcare fair to help folks get covered. Both groups helped community members with questions about the different plans and the process of signing up.

Organizers say they put on the event so residents could be prepared for the upcoming deadline.

“We decided to have this event to reach out to members of the community the same way we elect democrats, neighbor to neighbor, voter to voter, and health insurance consumer to health insurance consumer so that we can get everybody covered and have a safer and healthier Oregon,” said Chris Wig, vice co-chair of the Democratic Party of Lane County.

Organizers say over a dozen people showed up to the fair to get help from their healthcare navigators.
