Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Daily Forecast Discussion:
Tonight we’ll slowly cool off after close to a sizzler of a day with highs in the upper 80s to near 90. Tonight, lows will stay mild in the mid to upper 50s and we’ll stay clear overnight as well. The heat is back for Sunday and early on next week.
The hot high pressure ridge is on the move, sliding westward from the Norther Rockies and will ensure not just tomorrow, but Monday and likely Tuesday will stay hot with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. The coast may even get in on some mini-heat with south coast spots approaching 70. By midweek, a low pressure system dips in the jetstream just enough to mix in a little cooler ocean air and highs will be sliced back into the mid to lower 80s.
Indications are it’ll only be a quick cooldown and by next weekend, the heat will be back. Again, nothing shocking at this point but still multiple days at 88 or near 90 can take it toll for sure.
Have a great rest of your holiday weekend!
