Meteorologist Melissa Frey’s Forecast Discussion:
Friday’s morning’s storm is the third storm to bring in over an inch of precipitation this month and there is plenty more to come. Showers will continue through Friday night and will pick back up Saturday morning.
The cold front that brought in the heavy rain and breezy conditions will slowly move east today and the rain will lighten up into the evening. The next storm hits Saturday morning, which will bring in another round of heavy rain and strong winds, especially for the coast. The Oregon Coast is under a High Wind Watch from Saturday morning through Saturday evening for south winds of 35-45 mph and gusts of 65-70 mph.
The valley will likely see another 2-3 inches of rainfall by Saturday night while the coast and Coast Range will see an additional 2-4” of rain. The snow level started out at about 7,000 feet Friday, but will drop to 4,500 feet by Friday afternoon and down to 2,500 feet by Sunday morning.
Sunday we’ll see a quick break from the rain before the next storms line up for next week. We’ll see another strong storm bringing in heavy rain and strong winds Monday, followed by additional storms Tuesday – Thursday.
Have a great Valentine’s Day
