Meteorologist Marisa Woloszyn’s Forecast Discussion:

Flood Warning continues for the Coquille River at Coquille.

Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Cascades from 4 a.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday. A strong storm will move through the area Monday night into Tuesday bringing heavy snow for the mountains. 10-14″ of new snow is expected above 3500 ft and 5-9″ of snow above 2000 ft.

The storm will bring heavy rain for everywhere else, and gusty winds along the coast. A High Wind Warning has been issued for the Coos County coastline; wind gust will be near 60 mph.

Scattered showers continue Wednesday and Thursday as the system pushes off to the east. We will be in a split flow starting Friday, meaning dry weather through the weekend.

Have a terrific Tuesday and Happy Christmas!
