Helmet Auction Supports Cancer Research

EUGENE, Ore. — The flashy pink Oregon Duck helmets from Saturday’s game are still making a big impact.

Five of the helmets are being auctioned off for five consecutive days. A hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

The auction for the first helmet kicked off Saturday at kickoff, and the athletic department says the results have been outstanding.

“It’s been an amazing response from Duck fans and people supporting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Tremendous response on the first day. The auctions closed last night. The first day we had over $50,000, which is a tremendous number,” said Craig Pintens, Senior Associate Athletic Director.

Pintens says they’ve already raised more than $115,000. And with a Phil Knight autographed helmet released Tuesday morning, they hope to bring in even more money for the cancer fund.

    Hi
My 7 year old grandson is a big fan of Oregon and would love a pink helmet. Is there any way we could get one. I will make a donation to breast cancer to get one for him to wear.

    Thank you
