Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Evening Forecast Discussion:
We’re in store for a really nice Fall pattern for the entire 7-day forecast. Perhaps, Mother Nature is paying the Northwest back for an abrupt start to Fall with all the rain as high pressure will dominate the forecast.
Tonight, frost advisories are up for Douglas County and I’m expecting widespread low to mid 30s under clear skies in all inland valleys before the fog fills in early morning on Tuesday. We’ll stay in that same pattern for the next couple of days as the ridge of high pressure gets closer and stronger, foggy mornings and sunny afternoons with highs in the low to mid 60s.
Here’s the best news this week: By the weekend, the dense fog in the morning will be gone and a good push of warmer air will be filling in from the south, meaning with full sunshine, we should be push weekend highs to near 70! The Umpqua valley spots will likely climb into the low 70s all weekend. Not bad for the middle of October!
Have a great Tuesday!
