High Water Creating Boating Hazards

HARRISBURG, Ore. — A warning for boaters, extremely high water levels are causing hazards on parts of the Willamette River.

It’s especially a problem at the Harrisburg rail board bridges.

The Lane County Marine Patrol says there’s only five feet of clearance between the bridge and the water.

Officials say it’s unsafe for watercraft to pass under the bridge, so they’re urging boaters to take their boats out upstream of the bridges.
