Highway 58 Reopens After 10-car Pile-up

OAKRIDGE, Ore. — ODOT has now re-opened Highway 58 at the Salt Creek Tunnel near Oakridge Friday morning

There was a 10-car pileup there Thursday evening, which closed the highway for four hours.

Oregon State Police say the crashes started after an eastbound commercial truck pulling a semi-trailer was trying to go around a turn near milepost 56 when it stalled. Police say two more commercial trucks pulling trailers tried to drive past but lost traction on the snow and slid into the stalled truck. After that, seven other cars slid out of control and go stuck in the snow.
