Highway Memorial Signs To Honor Soldiers

PHILOMATH, Ore. — A state bill, inspired by a Philomath family’s loss, is on its way to the governor’s desk. The bill would rename parts of Highway 34 after three fallen soldiers.

The familes of Lance Corporal Tyler Troyer, Specialist Eric McKinley and Kevin Dewayne Davis have been working to get the signs placed on Highway 34 near Corvallis and Philomath in their honor. The men were killed while serving overseas.

The bill has passed the House, then Senate, and the House again. Once it is approved by the governor, the families plan to put up the signs. Governor Kitzhaber is expected to sign it at the end of this month.
