Hiker Missing Near Sutherlin

SUTHERLIN, Ore. — Search and Rescue crews are looking for a 74-year-old Umpqua man who was reported missing after he went on a day hike Monday.

Royce Cratty was dropped him off by his son on a BLM road in the Marvin Hill area of Highway 138E near Sutherlin to go on a day hike. Cratty’s wife reported him missing Thursday. The sheriff’s office doesn’t know why Cratty wasn’t reported missing sooner.

Cratty is a 5″8″, 145 lbs, with gray hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing two blue shirts, blue “rigging pants” and a red “cruiser hat”.
