HIV Alliance Hosts LGBTQ Health Fair

HIV pictureEUGENE, Ore. — A local non-profit is reaching out to gay men in the community with the hopes of teaching them how to live a healthy lifestyle and reduce the spread of HIV.

The HIV Alliance hosted an event Saturday at the Atrium Building in downtown Eugene. Several local doctors and educators were there as part of a panel discussing health concerns and how to prevent HIV.

“Hopefully they are able to take away healthier choices, healthier options for themselves and their day-to-day life. At HIV Alliance, we really believe in the harm reduction philosophy. We believe that one small healthy choice leads to other healthy choices,” said Paul Homan with HIV Alliance.

There were also health activities like learning how to measure blood pressure, along with group exercises for attendees.
