EUGENE, Ore. — The Lane County Home and Garden show is all about improving homes, but also reducing carbon footprints.
Several vendors at this weekend’s show will showcase products to help use less energy and reuse material.
Quick-Step Flooring, for example, carries flooring that’s made from 74 percent recycled material.
“The material is something that normally would have gone into the dump or into the landfill. We actually grind it up to make the wood-based core to manufacture the product,” said manager Dean Kirsch, Quick-Step Flooring.
The floors can also be taken when moving to a different house.
