The unit will be moved from the Johnson Unit, to the ground floor of the support services building. The ground floor is currently a parking garage. The goal of the renovation is to design a more efficient unit.
“These, however, will all be single-patient rooms, which are going to allow for a far better environment which care can be provided and also a better and more efficient arrangement of uses within the unit,” said Phillip Farrington, PeaceHealth spokesman.
Construction is set to begin in the next few months. It will cost an estimated $13 million. The money has already been allocated and won’t come out of operating revenues.
