Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Monday Night Forecast Discussion:
**Wildfire information: Oregon Wildfires ***
Hot again for Tuesday with highs back in the low 90s. We’ve got another upper low pressure area that will cool things off by Thursday, but like last week, it will bring a chance for some thunderstorms and possibly lightning strikes.
The best chance for storms to fire up will be Wednesday and Thursday afternoon in the mountains with a stronger push of marine layer each morning in the valleys and at the coast. Some of the thunderstorms may start “dry” meaning no rain but plenty of lightning and likely some strong winds and hail. With the additional clouds, highs will slowly back off into the upper to mid 80s.
By the weekend, the cooler air sticks around but the thunderstorms should have moved east. Highs will fall to a more comfortable low 80s with morning clouds and afternoon sunshine.
Have a great Tuesday!
